WP Buzz has a new symbol. Before we tell you what it means, a word for the old one.
The lightning bolt served us well. It stood for speed and energy in the years when we were small, scrappy, and had something to prove.
The new mark carries three things.
1- Sheffield. This city has made precision things from steel for two centuries, and the work is the point, not the noise around it. The mark is drawn the way Sheffield makes things. Clean lines, fine points, nothing decorative.
2- Spark. Our German Shepherd, our best friend, the reason loyalty is one of the nine beliefs.
3- Engineering. Look at the shape. A long stem reaching up, a wide centre holding steady, a fine point underneath carrying the whole thing. Balance under speed. Stillness while everything spins. If that sounds like a hosting philosophy, it’s because it is one.
You’ll notice what the new mark doesn’t do. It doesn’t shout.
The bolt announced speed because back then we had to say it ourselves.
We don’t any more. The benchmarks do the shouting now, and the mark can afford to be quiet.
What isn’t changing, plainly. The orange stays. The name stays. The nine beliefs stay.
And for existing customers, your price never changes, that promise is locked, and a new logo doesn’t touch it.
The pricing page has its own new running at the moment, and none of it affects anyone already with us.
One more thing. There’s more to this shape than we’re telling you today. We’ll keep that part to ourselves for now.
